  • Well you’ve probably heard the news and seen the pictures.

    Lot of damage downtown Atlanta–I just had heavy rain–I live a few miles south of downtown., but was geared up to hide if I had to.  At one point rotations on radar west of me, but all I had this morning was my Ron Paul sign tilting in the front yard.  Odd seeing pictures of places you’ve known all your life and have spent much time at.   Given all the widespread damage last night–few injuries–but new storms starting up today and fatalities reported north of the city.  My sci fi convention MomoCon supposedly still on, but it’s at Ga Tech next to the dome, roads closed and the NCAA moved over there, so…and with new storms coming in and subway shut down last night…I don’t think many people will be there today, so will go early tomorrow.

    And more on the way.  Hmm mmm mmm.  I was up most of the night—it was 9:30 through 11:30 PM when one front came through, another woke me up around 6 AM, now lot of stuff north working south.

    Hey Paul–

    I hope you are well or hanging in there.

    I don’t know how much I’ve detailed of my last couple of weeks.

    Went to Social Forum/Socialist Worker’s Poor People’s Rally weekend before last.  Eventually the 400 of them chased the 3 of us off.  We weren’t doing anything except watching, but guess we were sending out the wrong secret signal or something. Long story. (American flag is hate speech to them and etc…)

    Last Saturday went to Ron Paul rally–shook hands with his son Rand.  Several thousand people–seemed intelligent and energetic.  Like big family reunion.

    That night the McCain rally.  Got to about 10 ft of him at one point.  Crowd–some of them anyway–was the sort of people who’d be hiring illegals to be their underpaid slave labor. Other half of the crowd I think were people from other campaigns watching. His speech was to be all things to everyone, perpetual war and come join in.  Very unhealthy looking person.  Rally hall was small, which made it look more crowed and more people than were actually there.  Ron Paul people having near riot on street corner outside.

    Romney rally Monday at GA Tech campus..  Someone knocked my cap sideways, so Mitt patted my shoulders and straightened my hat for me.   Friend of mine went on local cable show that evening and discussed immigration issues, CFR and Illuminati and the like. Member of Chicago Seven was part of discussion group too.

    So yesterday I voted for Ron Paul, then went with my Romney friends to that party downtown. Party in some dark multilevel club–soso.   Obama party was few doors down, and people lined outside the door.

    I still need to take my Christmas/Wilimas tree down.  Haha.

    Take care,

    Wil

    Argh.  Avast.  Matey!  Never had seen the old Disney movie Treasure Island.  It was fun.   Actor Robert Newton single handedly created our concept of what a pirate is.  Haha

    Young actor Billy Driscoll had rather brief tragic life–dying at age 31.

    Ok—not certain what this picture I
    found is promoting.  Never quite saw Long John Silver looking as if
    drawn by Tom of Finland.  Ha.  And mm—gun placement?

    See me in the reflection in the middle?   Haha

    Store front at Marietta Square a few weeks ago.  Also saw a ghost while we were walking.  Thought for moment homeless person sitting next to lamppost, until I turned and no one there, and also realized they were in like Union winter coat.  Impression seemed rather sad and sick.   Big Civil War cemetery is near by…

    How lovely are thy branches!

    For Christmas Eve–the big red one brought me a cold.   Boo.   What did he bring you?

  • We Need A Little Christmas

    Mame:

    Haul out the holly;

    Put up the tree before my spirit falls again.

    Fill up the stocking,

    I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now.

    For we need a little Christmas

    Right this very minute,

    Candles in the window,

    Carols at the spinet.

    Yes, we need a little Christmas

    Right this very minute.

    It hasn’t snowed a single flurry,

    But Santa, dear, we’re in a hurry;

    So climb down the chimney;

    Put up the brightest string of lights I’ve ever seen.

    Slice up the fruitcake;

    It’s time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.

    For I’ve grown a little leaner,

    Grown a little colder,

    Grown a little sadder,

    Grown a little older,

    All:

    And I need a little angel

    Sitting on my shoulder,

    Need a little Christmas now.

    Mame:

    Haul out the holly;

    Well, once I taught you all to live each living day.

    All:

    Fill up the stocking,

    Young Patrick:

    But Auntie Man, it’s one week from Thanksgiving Day now.

    All:

    But we need a little Christmas

    Right this very minute,

    Candles in the window,

    Carols at the spinet.

    Yes, we need a little Christmas

    Right this very minute.

    Agnes:

    It hasn’t snowed a single flurry,

    But Santa, dear, we’re in a hurry;

    Ito:

    So climb down the chimney;

    Put up the brightest string of lights I’ve ever seen.

    All:

    Slice up the fruitcake;

    It’s time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.

    For we need a little music,

    Need a little laughter,

    Need a little singing

    Ringing through the rafter,

    And we need a little snappy

    “Happy ever after,”

    Need a little Christmas now.

    Need a little Christmas now.

    Maybe I can keep better up with smaller posts.  Local online news had buried tag of another reservoir here going dry.   (Feel free to skip the ads.)  Went to the link–haha–yeah–the reservoir for my community of East Point.  (FYI: Location-wise East Point is surrounded on 3 sides by Atlanta, and also partly by the airport.  However–supposedly we have 52 days of water left–up from the rumor of just 37 days a few weeks ago.   If you see 52 days of water in the gallery link let me know.  The reservoir is part of a state park west of ATL.  The larger ones they’re getting ready to drain and process all the good stuff that’s been settling on the bottom for years.

    But the newest proposal is to vampirize Tennessee–bwahaha.

    Tin Man on Sci Fi Channel has been good.  I usually flee from anything that proclaims it’s a “bold reimagining” of an established classic–Wizard of Oz if you haven’t guessed–but in this case–the praise is warranted I think.  I’m also looking forward to The Golden Compass too.  Love all these shows with Euro 1930′s fantasy fascio sci fi trappings–haha.

    Still balling the tree.  If I ever clear any more space to shift cell pix around, I’ll show you all my new balls.

    And for final weirdness for now–last night’s dream was a cross between a labyrinth in Neil Gaimen’s Sandman anthology, and Cartoon Network’s adult swim’s Venture Brothers toon.  And a lucidish dream too–if you want to contemplate that madness.

    Still cracks me up–in the TV previews of Tin Man–Askadelia (sp?) says somewhat dryly–”She’s gone to see the Wizard.”   Which they obviously dubbed over for the ads; in the actual show the delivery is a more biting sarcastic–”The (little?) bitch has gone to see the Wizard!”   Haha

    And on that merry note–yawn.
