I’m trying to just train myself to blog when my net is up,
not just when I feel like it. Haha because then it’s never up. (no bad
jokes please.)I usually compose blogs on xanga then sometimes
post repeats on myspace–but last night I got wild and crazy and posted
on myspace first. wow! HahaFrom wilspace:
Tiddlebats and Pickwicks.
Well
for a change of pace, I’ll write a blog on myspace first. Usually on
the rare times I post something here I compose first on xanga
(www.wilcarter.com) then copy over… I could whine no one reads me
here but then again I don’t post much here, and unless I install one of
those spytracker things- no way to really know if anyone reads here or
not.
Comcast ( my local net sometime-provider) worked great when
I first got hooked up in August, and it’s been down hill since around
Thanksgiving. I don’t think the Atlanta net companies can keep up with
demand since no one I’ve polled really has good story about whatever
provider they have.
My existence has been cluttered most of my
life, so things being relatively uncluttered– floorwise or
emotionally… I feel a little lost? Haha When seems you pushed
against walls of one sort or another all your life–almost perplexing
when the barriers appear less or gone.
Saw the movie “Children of Men”
the other night. Grim but well made. Premise is that about now all
the women in the world become infertile, and no more children are
born. Story takes place about 20 years later in 2026. Some what
cynical government worker gets pulled into escalating series of events
which eventually finds him helping a refugee girl who is pregnant
escape England, which has become island police state by then. (And
from news items I’ve been reading about authorities over there
increasingly putting cameras everywhere–like everyone’s trash
dumpsters most recently–they seem well on the path.)
I may have to get the soundtrack. They have a version of Ruby Tuesday
that’s touching. The original novel was published in the 80′s by
British mystery writer P. D. James and at the time everyone was making
big deal about a mystery writer producing science fiction work. Yes!
Once you’ve been pigeon holed by THEM–
can’t leave the hole! But actually at the time she got much praise for
the detail she realised such a bleak future possibility. The movie
was effective in giving England that Israeli blitzed South Lebanon
look. Well–if there’s no future–then little concern with repairing
infrastructure, and fuck the enviroment! Haha
I guess the movie
had “happy” enough ending–given the bleak circumstances–but–just
makes me think a lot. Which I probably do too much anyway.
Brain reformat anyone? Haha
I
dream alot of weird shit. Recent variations I’m in crowded space
figthing hordes of whatever–mummies, soldiers, demons. Sounds like an
ad for The 300–which I’ve been counting down towards for some time. Lets see– recent movies I’ve seen: Ghost Rider quite good. Flaming Skulls ands chains! Haha Hannibal Rising was first time blood was a fashion accessory. Probably should be retitled The Adventures of the Young Hanibal Lector. He was cast as sort of wounded hero type like Batman Begins or the X-People movies. Haha And Pan’s Labyrinth was
good, but if you’ve seen the preview–that uses and reuses up about all
the fantasy in the whole movie. It was set during the Spanish Civil
War, and had generous amounts of war torture. I have no problem with
blood and guts–but I was expecting more of a twisted Terry Gillam type
fantasy based on the trailers. It’s not a kids movie.
I’m
craving macaroni and cheese for some reason. I wonder if I can
substitute one of my many flavored coffee creamers in lieu of my
recently spoiling cow lactate which I liberated into the window sink
earlier this day…if I have a box of m & c though.
*checks*
I do! But I think I’ll wait until I buy milk–I’m not that desperate.
There’s no place like home.Bill came over and did some
more wiring on the house. I was given A Plus on how the house
looked–haha. But the weeds in my yard are the only green in the
neighborhood–haha I usually think yards are waste of time, money
and effort, but I’m getting mnore flyers on the door offering
lawnservices–mmmm. I could paint myself green and work naked in the
yard as the Green Man– but when I mention him– most people think I mean Martians. ahemI guess I need to make a Lowes run for some stuff.

This is nice. Xanga is not letting me save this. … … … … …..

Ok–at least got the blog itself posted….

All movies I’ve been wanting too see; especially Pan’s Labyrinth, after hearing Guillermo Del Toro talk about his childhood influences.
I feel your pain over internet connectivity.
xanga doesn’t like MYSPACE TRAITORS!!!! Grrrrrrr!!!
i read that book – she incidentally took that mannish pen name to write crime, b/c THAT is NOT DONE either. all these wiocked ones escaping their rightful boxes. *tut tut*
Xanga is my true love. Mwah. I mainly use myspace to stalk–I mean keep up with those who have crossed over.
We debated the Children of Men in my philosophy class the other day, ‘cept all men were infertile but a single man…and this man was gay and didn’t feel like giving it up.
I’m not sure about the mindset of today’s youth, because the class decided it was perfectly good to rape the poor gay and distribute his balls amongst the womenfolk.
ps. I didn’t mean sarcasm in my last comment — I’m also having net issues, which is partly why I haven’t done much blogging in the last couple months.
None taken. Net sux everywhere it seems.
my wireless works great out here in the toolies – lol haven’t seen any of those flix – i’ll wait for hbo me thinks. i wish it was warm enough to go work in the yard! peace, Al
I just started a My Space blog but there is nothing on it, I thought of double blogging, it’s a good idea. Thanks for the movie updates, I want to see those.
I love macaroni and cheese!
I’m waiting for 300 too… it looks wonderful! Doubt I will see it in the theatres, though, so I’ll have a looooooooong wait.
